On March 11th, 2024 my new book ‘Victorian Southwest Michigan True Crime‘ is released. This is a collection of stories I began researching in 2021, and many of them took a considerable amount of time to piece together. They were written at a time when I was working on my Youtube channel, telling history stories, as well as on my podcast ‘Tales of Southwest Michigan’s Past’.
One day, I was interviewing another author on my podcast in late 2022, and I mentioned this collection of stories I had compiled. She suggested I publish them in a book, and connected me with her publisher. From then on it has been quite a journey. Out of those travels through history, I compiled seventeen tales which became Victorian Southwest Michigan True Crime.
While researching other stories for video and the podcast, especially on cemeteries, I occasionally encountered mentions of murders that had happened. It took awhile for these stories to grab my attention to the level where I wanted to seriously research them exclusively, but once I had finally reached that point, it was difficult to disregard them. The crimes were so compelling, and I wanted to know exactly how they happened.
The book will officially be released on March 11th, and you can pre-order a copy using this link here. I will also be speaking and signing copies of the book at several places around Southwest Michigan starting in March. For a complete schedule of these events, click here.
I hope that you will pick up a copy and enjoy the stories. A word of caution, some of these stories are quite gruesome. However, I feel confident that true crime fans will find them as fascinating as I did.
First of all, great cover. Secondly, I love a good murder mystery. And something that is close to home will add to the interest. You are detailed in your videos, so no doubt these stories will be detailed also. I am preordering mine today.
