Today is March 11th, 2024, and my new book Victorian Southwest Michigan True Crime is officially released everywhere books are sold! You can visit your local bookstore, and ask them to order copies for you, or you can purchase a copy through my website here, or on Barnes & Noble, or Amazon, etc.
Victorian Southwest Michigan True Crime covers stories of real events that happened in several counties across the region. There are seventeen stories in all, and they transpired in Calhoun, Barry, Eaton, Branch, St. Joseph, Kalamazoo, Cass, Berrien and Jackson Counties in Michigan. There are a few stories that have cross over between multiple counties.
The earliest story took place in 1846, where the book begins, and the last one in the collection happened in 1898. The stories were placed in chronilogical order of when they happened, during the Victorian Era which ranged from 1837 to 1901, the time period of the reign of English Queen Victoria.
The research on this collection of stories began in 2020, and many final details were refined as I prepared the book for publishing during the editing process in 2023. I hope you will enjoy this collection of true crime stories. Many of these tales are quite shocking, and brutal, whereas others leave behind even to this day an enduring unsolved mystery.
Over the next several months, I will be speaking and presenting stories from this book in various places around Southwest Michigan. For a complete list of my scheduled events, click here. I hope to see you there!
