At a recent event in Battle Creek, Michigan at the Kellogg Arena, I sold my 1000th copy of Victorian Southwest Michigan True Crime. This certainly does not mean that only 1000 copies have been sold by any means, as literally hundreds more have been sold in bookstores, Walgreens and other places across the State of Michigan, as well as on the internet websites.
What this means is that this was number 1000 that I personally sold and signed directly to someone. This past year, I have been all over Michigan talking before audiences telling stories, introducing my book to true crime fans at local festivals and promoting it at local events. I have met so many hundreds of people, and I have kept track of all of the copies I have personally sold.
Here is a photo of the young lady I sold my 1000th copy to at the Holiday Night Bazaar event in Battle Creek on December 6th. She told me she was a criminal justice major and was very interested in reading about the crimes of yesteryear. We had a great conversation and she purchased my book Victorian Southwest Michigan True Crime. She had no idea she was number 1000 until I told her. She was kind enough to step into the photo booth and that was next to my table, and pose for this picture.
It had been a wonderful adventure this year! I have met so many wonderful people along this journey, and it is far from anywhere close to coming to an end. I plan to continue promoting my book into 2025, and even have a follow up one scheduled to be published in July! So stay tuned!
